Permanent

£50,000 - £55,000

+

Our client is a well established brand experience agency. Initially based outside of London, the agency grew and gained reputation, however steady growth and a lack of local talent forced the agency move nearer London and they have now settled in Richmond. The agency is now around 30-35 people, with a quite a number of freelancers.

Their current senior designer is leaving after 4 years in the business. Whilst he has created some fantastic work, the agency feels it needs to bring in a heavy-hitter, a lead designer/HoD with a more versatile approach; hungry, edgy, entrepreneurial and proactive. The client wants to see designers from all backgrounds and are totally open to seeing people that want to really embrace the opportunity and help grow and lead a team, whilst pushing the boundaries of the visual output. This person will be overseeing the resource and managing freelancers, they usually have 2-3 freelance designers and the same number of artworkers. Designer (Advertising for youth brands) (11932)

London

Permanent

£28,000 - £32,000

+

Job Description: Mid Weight Designer

Our client is an independent creative agency with a singular focus: they create big brand ideas that engage under 30’s

They work with brands that need to be relevant in the world of culture, media, technology and consumer attitude; ambitious brands who can’t afford to get it wrong with their most important audience.

They are entrepreneurial by nature and understand that to get the best out of your people, they need the best culture. So they invest in it. And in you.

Every team member benefits from their training and development programme, which they run in consultation with industry organisation The IPA. They are currently working towards Gold accreditation.

They also believe their team is the best, because they work at it. In addition to monthly Show + Tell nights, where they share and celebrate great work over a few drinks they also have annual Christmas and Summer parties which have taken them to the cafe bars of Paris, the ski slopes of Meribel, the clubs of Ibiza and in the last 12 months, to Copenhagen, Secret Cinema’s Bladerunner and the Bake-Off tent.

Most of their people have some kind of creative side-hustle going on, and they love that about them. They’ve got artists, designers and entrepreneurs all over the shop.

So, they’re supportive and down-to-earth but they’re professional and as a team they’ve got their act together.

Yes they’ve got some big clients and won some awards but there’s more to them than name dropping and gong-hunting.

They have been listed in Campaign’s Top 5 Places to work, which demonstrates their long-term commitment to their culture and the future career paths of their people.

They are growing rapidly and need inspired creative people to join their tight studio team.

Who are you

As the Mid Weight Designer you will be responsible for creating and delivering the visual aesthetic of the agency’s varied roster of clients.

You’re already an excellent designer, someone who can problem solve and create new ideas rather than just layout and execute. You’re going to creatively steer the output of contemporary brands specifically targeting culturally savvy under 30’s around the world so you need to know your audience and what they’re into. They’re not looking for cookie cutter ad-agency gloss, they want your authentic style to inform their output.

You’ll be big into the execution, love the ins and outs of Adobe’s finest and be able to go from concept board to finished artwork effortlessly.

You must be highly organized and process driven. No-one likes a messy desktop. Especially not on Mondays. They’ve got hard drives coming in at a rate of knots and you’ll share responsibility for looking after them and keeping track of files on the server.

You can multi-task; they’re always busy and no day is the same.

So, you can adapt and adjust to changing circumstances. Some projects take weeks, some need minutes, you’re comfortable with it all.

You’re a proper team player, you’ll get lots of support but you’re self-motivated enough to crack on by yourself, and you also back yourself to not only fit in with their team but to add to the culture.

You’ll be working at the heart of a highly creative, motivated team, delivering the best work of their lives and there will be people to inspire you and people who expect you to inspire them.

Your Experience

Junior / mid level in a creative/design agency
Fully Experienced in the Adobe Creative Suite, including and understanding of Design, Editing and Motion Graphics.

Must Haves.

We are looking for people who match their values: –

Brave
Smart
Spirited

Lateral thinking, they’re not your average network giant.
Adaptable and flexible, they’re all hybrid.
Ambition – for yourself and the agency, they’re going places.
Positive, happy personality, because everyone else is.
Calm under pressure

Package

Basic salary £28/32K depending on experience and talent
25 days holiday (to include time taken off during the annual Christmas Close, which is 4 days)
Birthday taken as an additional holiday day
Healthy body, healthy mind fund: 1% per annum of salary allocated per employee, to be put against their wellbeing – gym membership, Santander Cycles, massage, fitness class, bike purchase et al
Pension
Private Healthcare
Travel insurance

About the Client

We’re creating a new Product team to develop the next generation of our apps. If you have mobile product design experience we’re interested in getting to know you.

Designer (11835)

London

Permanent

£30,000 - £55,000

+

Our client is an established major global advertising agency, based in London. Having gone through a major re-invention recently, they have now become the go-to Ad agency in London and are now one of the most awarded agencies in the world…

There is an emphasis on hiring nice people; personality being key as they promote a good working culture involving collaboration and fairness. It’s a great place to work at and they have a high retention rate, which is always a good sign.

The studio consists of around 12 designers with 1-2 creative atworkers. They are now looking for strong versatile designers that can turn their hand to anything from conceptual work and branding, through to campaign work. It’s a great place to work and the standard of work is very high, but the pace/turnaround is very fast so you’ll need to be able to handle tight deadlines. They are looking for designers with ATL experience at the core, but would also like to see versatility and potentially personal work too; anything that shows you carry your creative passion to out of work activities would be a bonus; screen printing, photography etc…

The more senior designers are actively encouraged to become brand guardians and oversee at least one main account (plus others). At this level you will be client facing and see the work filtered through down the line internally, guiding and encouraging more junior designers; essentially it’s similar to a HoD role.

The agency’s offices have been re-designed and are looking great, it’s all open plan now, and staff are spread out hot-desking next to each other regardless of their job title; i.e.: account managers next to designers or creatives, very much encouraging that collaborative culture.

Packaging designer (Sydney, Australia)

New South Wales, Sydney

Permanent

£30,000 - £50,000

+

Our client is a packaging design agency based in Sydney. They are finding it increasingly difficult to find staff from the Australian talent pool so they are now looking to the UK for talent.

The agency is independently-owned (by the two lead designers), has been operating since 1994, currently employs around 18 people with space for up to 25, is located close to Sydney’s CBD in a heritage-listed warehouse conversion. Their clients are global and multi-nationals. Their work tends to be through repeats, word of mouth and client referrals, and theirr client base has slowly expanded organically from their Sydney-centric base as product managers (and production) have moved offshore.

In particular they are looking for packaging design specialists to work on FMCG accounts.

From an immigration point of view, the easiest scenario would be to take someone initially on a working holiday visa. These are available to various nationalities including UK, USA, Canada, Ireland and most European countries for persons aged 20 to 31. This visa lasts for 12 months. They would offer employment with a three-month probation period, after which we could apply for a 457 Visa which allows employment for two years, with the option to apply to extend for a further two years. Thereafter, there is conjecture as to which professions will offer residency and citizenship (at the moment graphic design does not).

They currently employ staff from Australia, Korea, Vietnam, China, Indonesia and the UK – a reflection of Australian multiculturalism. Obviously, this could involve a relocation aspect (and some work on our part to facilitate visas etc); but it could also offer an opportunity to travel and experience a new culture and lifestyle.

In the past, some of their most successful employees have been Australians returning ‘home’ after some UK experience and this could offer another avenue of exploration.
