This role is to start October 2020.

3 month contract until end of January 2021.

JOB DESCRIPTION

London creative agency looking for a freelance Account Manager to work on an established chocolate brand. Ideally you will have experience of working on campaigns for leading FMCG brands and some experience of working with international clients.

An integral role within the team, we are looking for the Account Manager to quickly become the day-to-day ‘go to’ for key client contacts and creative teams.

You will have a track record of building client relationships whilst delivering creative work. Ideally you will have experience and a passion for creative, marketing, advertising and strategy and be keen to assist a fun chocolate brand brand deliver effective customer engagement, retail marketing and activation campaigns.

The role is to “hit the ground running”, take ownership of projects from start to finish, champion client relationships and deliver tactical drive to creative campaigns.

Our client produces multi-channel campaigns so knowledge of artworking and print are required, the main focus of this role will be the development and delivery of digital collateral, ranging from video and animation through to digital presentations and websites (front end design).

The agency are tight-knit team so the successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of creative work – from idea generation and concept development through to production and final delivery (yes, afraid that can mean PowerPoint as well).

COVID
This is a full-time role based in their central London office (12 mins walk from Waterloo and London Bridge). The office space is within a co-working building and there are very strict procedures in place to ensure it is a safe place to work (temperature taken at the door, cleaners working all day and offices deep cleaned every evening) so it is currently open for those that want to be there (book in advance to ensure safe numbers) and they are encouraging all team members to be in the office at least twice a week. Our guidance changes in accordance with government guidelines.

In the event of the COVID situation easing the client will still offer flexible working but this role be office based at least 3 days a week.

EXPERIENCE

HND/degree qualification in a creative discipline
At least 3 years’ agency experience – some experience in healthcare would be beneficial but not mandatory
Expert knowledge of Adobe Premier, After Effects, Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
Good MS Office skills including Excel and PowerPoint
Knowledge of/willingness to learn html, CMS systems (WordPress etc)
Proven experience and interest in building successful client relationships and rapidly earning client trust
Experience of and desire to attend client meetings (currently virtual, but face to face COVID permitting) to present creative work

  • Line-manage the team of developers. Provide mentoring and support to build individual and team capability.
  • Develop, test, deploy, and improve digital products and services in production.
  • Develop their technology practices including test-driven development, code review, pair-programming, QA, approaches, and professional development and training.

You will help create a supportive team and a culture of partnership, consistency, operational excellence, and delivery. You will foster good engineering practices, rhythms, and rituals, team dynamics and delivery within the Head of Digital’s team. And you will help the team make brilliant connections with the other designers and researchers across the rest of the agency. Principals are our most senior practitioners, but you’ll also work with other Principals across service design and user research to help set and raise the standard of human-centred design across the agency.

Responsibilities
You should be able to demonstrate that you have experience of some or all of the following responsibilities:

  • Leading multi-disciplinary project teams to develop and test digital products, proof of concepts, and prototypes.
  • Demonstrating a human centred design approach and prioritising user needs over business or technical constraints.
  • Ensuring client satisfaction in the delivery of our technical solutions; that they are on time and budget.
  • Fostering a culture of proactive open communication, operational excellence, and consistent delivery.
  • Providing mentoring and support to a team of developers so that their capability improves as individuals and a team.
  • Building awareness and understanding of technical possibilities and constraints with team and clients, to make sure our wider service design approach is fit for purpose.
  • Supporting the wider team on new business proposals and pitches when required.

Your skills and experience
They want to hear from a range of people who can demonstrate some, or all, of the following skills and experience:

  • Leading the technical vision for products and services within a development team.
  • Skillfully translating and communicating technical concepts for clients, delivery team members, and other technical specialists like design and research.
  • Developing software in at least two programming languages (eg Python, Node.js, Go, Ruby).
  • Working with Git version control and leading an environment of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
  • Deploying, hosting, securing, monitoring, and scaling in the cloud and experience with configuration management tools (eg Terraform, Chef, Ansible, Puppet, KMS).
  • Delivering work using test-driven development (TDD) and/or behaviour-driven development (BDD) approaches.
  • Delivering work using agile and lean approaches.
  • Ensuring work meets accessibility, scalability, robustness, and security requirements.
  • Understanding of service design and user research, and how they relate to development.
  • Experience of skillfully translating and communicating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Awareness of technology trends and an openness to experimentation.
  • Experience of pair-programming and code review, willing to work collaboratively to both give and receive feedback within a shared code ownership team.

We’re keen to hear from a range of applicants who can demonstrate some, or all, of the following skills and experience:

Proven interaction design experience including wireframing and website development
A strong portfolio of user-centred, responsive and well-researched design work
Experience in taking feedback from users, clients and peers on your designs
Knowledge of the WCAG 2.1 guidelines and general accessibility criteria
A working knowledge of front-end frameworks (React, Vue.js) and design patterns (MVC, MVVM, Flux, etc.) and understanding of their benefits and constraints
Experience of working with development teams
