Business Development Manager (11635)

London

Permanent

£40,000 - £50,000

+

Small but perfectly formed independent creative agency, making beautiful work – needs a talented Business Development Manager.

Offering clients uncluttered access to senior strategic and creative thinking, they work with a number of exciting accounts, in diverse sectors including automotive, entertainment and charity.

The role:

To support their ongoing growth, they are now looking for a full-time new business manager to secure new opportunities. Just as they bring in the best strategy and creative talent, they’re looking for a proven new business specialist to help – someone with demonstrable experience in driving new business for agencies. With the support of the four business owners, you’ll be responsible for all aspects of the new business programme from list generation, pipeline growth/maintenance and securing meetings.

The person:

Ultimately, someone who is passionate about building agency businesses, someone who is single minded about getting results and genuinely interested in the creative industry. The right person will have a good understanding of the industry, able to talk intelligently about different types of work and able to identify opportunities in a brand’s business where the agency offer may help. You’re not expected to be able to do the work, but you’ll need to talk convincingly about it to potential clients.

At the risk of sounding like something from The Apprentice, the person will also need to be something of a self-starter. This isn’t because you’ll be left to sink or swim (you won’t, promise), but there’ll be many occasions when you just need to get on with stuff and create your own work.

Social Media Manager 6 month FTC

London

£35,000 - £38,000

+

Very exciting role for an experienced Social Media Manager at a leading integrated Agency. Working closely with the Senior Social Engagement Manager, Head of Strategy and the wider team of a leading integrated Agency for a fast food chain.

You will be working with different teams to understand and develop social concepts, manage the production process and deliver for publication. This is a great chance to gain exposure to the agency as a whole as you will be the driving force behind the campaign.

The project is the largest in the Agency and as such this is a great opportunity to partner with the client to deliver, what is for them, also the biggest and most popular project they run!

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE AGENCY
We are looking for a social media innovator, who is happy having strategic conversations, coupled with strong executional skill. You will have a best-practise mindset gained in an agency environment and be able to spot opportunities to join the dots and provide thought-leadership expertise.

Digging deeper on the details

Packaging designer (Sydney, Australia)

New South Wales, Sydney

Permanent

£30,000 - £50,000

+

Our client is a packaging design agency based in Sydney. They are finding it increasingly difficult to find staff from the Australian talent pool so they are now looking to the UK for talent.

The agency is independently-owned (by the two lead designers), has been operating since 1994, currently employs around 18 people with space for up to 25, is located close to Sydney’s CBD in a heritage-listed warehouse conversion. Their clients are global and multi-nationals. Their work tends to be through repeats, word of mouth and client referrals, and theirr client base has slowly expanded organically from their Sydney-centric base as product managers (and production) have moved offshore.

In particular they are looking for packaging design specialists to work on FMCG accounts.

From an immigration point of view, the easiest scenario would be to take someone initially on a working holiday visa. These are available to various nationalities including UK, USA, Canada, Ireland and most European countries for persons aged 20 to 31. This visa lasts for 12 months. They would offer employment with a three-month probation period, after which we could apply for a 457 Visa which allows employment for two years, with the option to apply to extend for a further two years. Thereafter, there is conjecture as to which professions will offer residency and citizenship (at the moment graphic design does not).

They currently employ staff from Australia, Korea, Vietnam, China, Indonesia and the UK – a reflection of Australian multiculturalism. Obviously, this could involve a relocation aspect (and some work on our part to facilitate visas etc); but it could also offer an opportunity to travel and experience a new culture and lifestyle.

In the past, some of their most successful employees have been Australians returning ‘home’ after some UK experience and this could offer another avenue of exploration.
